Amanda Seyfried is part of the cast of Gary Oldman’s long-gestating feature directorial debut, the director tells Absolutely Magazine (found by Go4Everyone via this Oldman fansite). The film is called “Flying Horse” and also stars Oldman himself, Benedict Cumberbatch and Ralph Fiennes.
“Flying Horse” is a biopic of photographer Eadweard Muybridge, but may be more of a crime thriller, since Mybridge (to be playd by Fiennes in the film) ultimately discovered his young wife (likely Seyfried) had been having an affair with a theater critic (Cumberbatch). Muybridge traveled to see the critic, Major Harry Larkyns, and greeted him thusly: “Good evening, Major, my name is Muybridge and here’s the answer to the letter you sent my wife” followed immediately by a fatal, point-blank gunshot. Despite this great cast and the intriguing story, Oldman doesn’t seem too sure that it’ll get made anytime soon because financiers aren’t lining up to back it. Oh, Hollywood.
Seyfried, who recently played Cosette in Tom Hooper’s Oscar-winning “Les Miserables,” will next be seen in Seth MacFarlane’s Western comedy “A Million Ways to Die in the West” and is currently filming Noah Baumbach’s “While We’re Young” with Adam Driver. She’ll next film “Fathers and Daughters” with Russell Crowe and Aaron Paul and is attached to ensemble comedy “The Most Wonderful Time” with Diane Keaton and Theo James.
